2015 International Ocean Colour Science Meeting

Event date(s): Monday 15th June 2015  –  Thursday 18th June 2015

Location: San Fransisco, USA

Second Announcement: 2015 International Ocean Colour Science Meeting

Abstract submission for the 2015 International Ocean Colour Science meeting is now open.

The meeting will take place in San Francisco, California from 15 - 18 June 2015, and will be convened by the International Ocean Colour Coordinating Group (IOCCG) in partnership with, and thanks to sponsorship from NASA and NOAA, with additional sponsorship from EUMETSAT, ESA and CNES. On behalf of the Scientific Planning Committee, we encourage you to register, and to submit an abstract for a poster presentation (see http://iocs.ioccg.org/).

The meeting will include a number of parallel breakout sessions encompassing the main theme of the meeting: Applications of Ocean Colour from Climate to Water Quality. We would like to hear your ideas for a breakout session.

Please go to the Program section of the website to submit your proposal to the Scientific Planning Committee. Deadline for breakout session proposals is 31 December 2014.

This year we will include a new event called “Visions & Hallucinations” – very short talks outlining highly innovative, provocative and even entertaining concepts, focusing on new approaches or capabilities in the field of ocean colour and bio-optical science. You can submit your vision for the future on the IOCS-2015 website under the Program heading.

Help us spread the word about IOCS-2015 by forwarding this email to colleagues, and by printing the meeting poster (right hand side of meeting website), to display on your local bulletin board.

If you have any questions about the conference please contact the IOCS-2015 meeting manager, Liz Gross, at [email protected] or call + 410-708-8889. Information regarding venue, hotels and travel support will be posted on the meeting web site in the near future, so visit the IOCS meeting website (http://iocs.ioccg.org/) regularly for all the latest news and announcements.
