Sentiel 3A successfully launched

Sentinel-3A, the third ESA-developed satellite belonging to Europe’s Copernicus envrionement programme was launched successfully at 17:57 GMT (18:57 CET; 20:57 local time) on yesterday (16 Feb 2016).

Sentinel-3A will be measuring the ocean's sea temperature, ocean colour, sea level and sea ice thickness,  and over land will contribute to the monitorig of wildfires, map the way land is used, check vegetation health and measure the height of rivers and lakes.
