Capacity building

... new GOVST Partners

India-Brazil from space

GODAE OceanView invests in supporting long-term international collaboration for the improvement of global & regional forecasting systems and invites national forecasting systems which have recently developed an operational capacity to join the science team and share their experiences and expertise.

The GOVST’s investment in building this capacity includes the identification of countries where operational oceanography receives national support.

The GOVST is keen to communicate with representatives of such new systems and to identify local user needs and international & regional partnerships. The GOVST is planning to promote and support exchange programs for doctoral students to learn how to set up their own configurations and for researchers for research visits in GODAE OceanView centres.

Linking to international operational oceanography programmes

Through its members, GODAE OceanView collaborates with a number of international programmes, which are also working towards the implementation of operational oceanography systems.

One example is the European Initiative for the establishment of a European capacity for Earth Observation, in particular the ocean component from Copernicus, the Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS).
