Call for papers & abstract submission

The purpose of this workshop is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas on ocean system experiments and to review the ongoing activities and results regarding the impact of global and regional ocean observing system for short-range forecasting, seasonal to decadal forecasting and reanalyses obtained since the GOV symposium by GOV and CLIVAR GSOP groups.

The workshop is intended to be a mix of oral presentations, open discussion, and poster presentations.

The workshop organisers invite contributions to the workshop in the form of

  • Oral presentation
  • Poster presentation
The abstract submissions deadline has been extended to 26 September 2014.

Oral or poster presentations are expected to relate to the categories (1-3/a-d) below. For each abstract, please give at least one category, and whether your presentations preference would be Oral or Poster.

Abstracts can be submitted via the workshop registration pages.

The date for the acceptance notification to authors was planned for 17 October 2014 and has now been circulated.

 aHow to enhance the coordination between GOV OSEval and Clivar GSOP?
 bHow to enhance the link with observation agencies (space and in-situ) and intergovernemental bodies (GOOS, OOPC,...)?
 cHow the TT could become an authoritative source of advice and evidence on the relevance and impact of the observing system?



To register for the workshop please go to the registration page. Abstract submission is now closed.

To support the running of the workshop we will need to ask all particiapnts to pay a workshop registration fee of €75.00. The fee will cover costs for breaks and meal (lunches) and the cocktail reception. If you bring a guest just for the cokctail please expect to be asked to pay €15.00. The fee collection is being organised by CLS and nneds to be paid in cash, cheque or credit card at registration.

Registration for the OSEval-TT workshop (10 & 11 December 2014) is still open and will close on 21 November 2014.

Places are limited so early registration is recommended. Fee payments will be arranged closer to the meeting.

Participation is invited from

  • All OSEval-TT members or substitutes
  • Representatives from the GODAE OceanView Science Team and the GOV Patrons' Group
  • Representatives from E-AIMS and GSOP/CLIVAR
  • Representatives from observational agencies (remote and in-situ)
  • Participants from the previous workshop

Due to the venue size we will try to limit the attendance of this workshop to 40-50 attendees.
