COSS-TT & ARCOM workshop (31 Aug - 4 Sep 2015)

The workshop is planned to run for 2 half and 3 full days, covering a variety of themes:

 Recurrent themes at every workshop:
 1Progress of ongoing coastal ocean forecasting projects in the world coastal oceans, with a particular focus on work done by COSS community members since the previous workshops
 2Applications in coastal oceans, and science in support of those applications
 Special ICW4 themes:
 3Steps taken by Large-scale Ocean Forecasting Systems to serve the needs of coastal users (papers from GOV “large-scale” groups are particularly welcome)
 4Data and metrics to assess the quality of Regional and Coastal Ocean Forecasting Systems for science and applications (in coordination with the IV-TT and with the EU COST action EOS WG4)
 5Demonstrating the added value of downscaling from the Large-scale systems (in coordination with the IV-TT and with the EU COST action EOS WG4)
 6Using altimetry products in regional/coastal ocean models for assimilation and validation (ARCOM)

Morning: Applications – Theme 2
Afternoon: Downscaling and added value I (coll. Intercomparison and Validation –Task Team (IV-TT) and EOS) – Theme 3

Friday, 04 September:

Morning: Downscaling and added value II (coll. Intercomparison and Validation –Task Team (IV-TT) and EOS) – Theme 3 continued
Late morning: Final discussion Finish mid-day (~noon)
