Meeting location

The meeting will take place at the SLAB seminar room (same building as the Library and the Dean's office).

Meeting venue

The meeting will take place at the marine campus of the University of Miami. The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS) is located on the small island of Virginia Key, which also hosts the NOAA-AOML (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory) and the Miami Seaquarium. Virginia Key is connected to the mainland via the Rickenbacker Causeway (includes a spectacular bridge), while a small bridge connects to the island of Key Biscayne (2 parks with public beaches plus a posh residential area).

Weather

Miami on January is everyone’s dream. Dry, sunny and warm. Of course, the occasional “cold” front might happen, so a light sweater is good to have. RSMAS is a casual attire place, shorts and sandals are perfectly fine.

Transport

For drivers: Enter Rickenbacker Causeway, go through the toll booth (pay $1.50 to enter, no toll to exit) go over the bridge, stay in the right lane, pass the large parking lot of the "Miami Seaquarium", the Univ. of Miami Rosenstiel school campus is immediately after, turn right (do NOT go over the 2nd small bridge).
Visitor parking is free, outside the fence. The meeting is at the SLAB seminar room, near the Library and the Dean's office (1st building with red railings, signs will be posted).

Local transport (buses): The local bus network includes Virginia Key where RSMAS is loceted. From the Metrorail station "Brickell" the 102 Route B bus is leaving regularly. For more detailed information please view the bus network map and 102 B bus schedule. The bus stop for RSMAS is "Miami Seaquarium".
