Registration and abstract submission


Joint DA-MEAP TT workshop, 11-13 July 2016

UCSC, Santa Cruz, California, USA

The joint workshop will take the form of separate sessions on targeted topics specific to each individual TT, and plenary sessions on broader topics that are of interest and relevance to both Task Teams.

The workshop is intended to be a mix of oral presentations, open discussion, and poster presentations.

The workshop organisers invite contributions to the workshop in the form of

  • Oral presentation
  • Poster presentation

To register for the workshop at the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) in Santa Cruz, 13-15 July 2016,  and to submit your abstract(s) please complete the


form. The deadline for registration is 24 June 2016.


Registration fees

We will waive registration fees for everyone EXCEPT U.S. government employees who will have to pay a registration fee to cover all their catering costs (breask, lunches and the welcome reception). 

The registration fee for US Government employees attending the workshop will be US$113 per person.

Payment should be made on Day 1, 11 July 2016, Monday at registration in the form of a cheque made payable to "UC Regents."We cannot accept cash or credit card.


Deadline for abstract submission is now closed.

We are hoping that this workshop will be fully sponsored by NOAA to allow free participation including coffeee breaks, lunches and dinner. We will be able to provide more information very soon.

Abstracts are invited for the topics listed below. Please submit your abstract(s) NOW by 30 May 2016. When submitting your abstract please make sure that you indicate which session category your abstract refers to (J1-3, D1-6 and/or M1-3) as wells as your preference for oral or poster presentation.

This is a joint event for attendees from the different communities (Data Assimilation (DA) and Marine Ecosystem Analysis and Prediction(MEAP)) to meet and exchange on topics related to their specific area as well as on topics relevant for both communities.

Special events - Ice-breaker reception

We will be organising an ice-breaker reception at the meeting venue (UCSC) on Monday, 11 July evening from 6-8pm. We also plan to run the first part of the poster viewing session at the same time. All are welcome.

Please note that after some consideration we decided NOT to organise a dinner or tour for this workshop and hope that you will enjoy the reception.
