Cross-cutting science projects

The OceanPredict framework will operate as a science forum and activity platform providing expertise, opportunities for collaboration, and advocacy to its members and partners.

Cross-cutting science projects

OceanPredict will define, monitor, promote and coordinate research actions aimed to advance multi-scale and multidisciplinary ocean analysis and forecasting systems, and will interlink with partners on both sides of the Operational Oceanography value chain, from ocean observations to user applications, to intergrate research advances into operational prediction systems and to maximise ocean observing observation value for research, applications, and for societal and economic benefit.

OceanPredict will be the catalyst group to ensure that all participating entities can provide the best possible description of ocean state in the past, present and future up to seasonal scales that will have the best possible positive impact on its end use.

OceanPredict will ensure that its members, through collaboration with partners like the WMO, GOOS and GEO Blue Planet achieve to develop the full capacity of operational oceanography.
